The Science Behind

Why you can trust what you take

An extract is worth not its label but three things: which species it is, what it contains, and how it was processed. Here we open all three.

The functional-mushroom market is full of unbacked promises: powders with no botanical identity, "extracts" that are really mycelium milled together with its substrate, labels that promise cures. We take the opposite road.

At Simbiosis we believe transparency is the only honest marketing. So we show you exactly what we work with, which active molecules you are consuming, and why our extraction method changes the final result. Follow the path — in the order a curious fungivoro builds certainty.

01

Species

Which mushrooms do we use, and why these eight?

Eight species with verified botanical identity, each with centuries of traditional use and decades of modern research. Learn their origin, history, and functional profile, from Reishi to Himematsutake.

02

Biocomponents

What do they contain, and what does each molecule do?

Beta-glucans, triterpenes, cordycepin, hericenones. The active molecules that give each mushroom its value, explained without empty jargon, with a comparative table of the eight species.

03

Extraction Methods

How do we extract it, and why does that matter?

The chitin cell wall hides the actives. Without the right method, your body cannot use them. We explain dual extraction, the ultrasonic step, and why the process defines potency.

Fruiting body, not mycelium on grain

It is the choice that most separates a serious extract from a filler one. Most cheap products on the market use mycelium grown on rice or oats, milled together with its substrate: the result is a powder rich in starch and poor in the beta-glucans that truly matter.

At Simbiosis we work with whole fruiting bodies — the mature mushroom, where the active biocompounds concentrate. It costs more and is harder to source, but it is the only honest way to do it. We cover it in depth in Extraction Methods.
